There is a lot more to gardening than digging in the soil, planting seeds and plants, weeding, watering and harvesting. There is also a time to enjoy the beauty and serenity of each garden, including flowers and other landscaping vegetation. As a person works at keeping things in order, perhaps there would be a moment to relax, if there was a convenient place to do that.
Along with orderly plantings of fruits and vegetables, the gardener could add a wooden or concrete bench under the shade of a tall redbud tree, bursting with pretty pink blossoms. The ornamental pear tree nearby, decked out in masses of delicate white petals, also could provide a handy place for a bit of rest. Both trees may send down a shower of blossoms if a little breeze is rippling through the branches. That might be a neat experience.
If the garden is a bit of a distance from the house, perhaps a wooden picnic table with attached benches might give a gardener a suitable spot from which to sip a soda, a glass of tea or other favorite beverage, even water. Sometimes the addition of an oilcloth tablecloth, with a felt backing, would add a decorative note to the flower patch. On the patio, a glass and steel table sporting an umbrella in the middle, with chairs to match, could be favorable.
On very hot days, chaise lounges may really be welcome, especially if there is a swimming pool of some kind to dip into. Drying off while lounging there could be very agreeable. Pools are another matter entirely. The types and sizes are up to personal choice and finances, in most cases. Something to cool off in handily might be a great addition to the garden plan.
One of the worst things to deal with while trying to enjoy the beautiful landscape around the home is biting bugs of all kinds. Of course, there are a variety of beneficial bug sprays and lotions for the body, but if those are being avoided for one reason or another, consider erecting a screen tent. These are very adaptable, being used one time for lounging inside of, another time for dining outside, minus the critters. The sides are screen, the top is of heavy plastic or canvas. It is attached to a frame, which is staked down to the ground securely.
Among the work horses of the garden scene are the net covers. These would fall under the category of equipment, rather than furniture, but they will save many strawberries, cherries or other small fruit from the marauding birds and small creatures of the land. Throw them over the fruit, or vegetable, as they are ripening and the fruit will not be harmed. Secure them a bit from blowing wind, of course.
Some landscapes are surrounded with a fence of some kind, keeping some gardening activities out of site. This may be to differentiate it from the rest of the yard, or even hide parts of the garden from general view. A compost pile comes to mind, being another work horse but not such a pretty one sometimes. Often the fence is actually used to grow vining plants upon.
